Ladies & Gents:
I am still in New Jersey, and I have no idea when I'm leaving. That's because my ear is pretty borked and I need an MRI on Wednesday to see what's wrong. If it's nothing, I'll leave early next week. If it's something, well, I still hope to leave by August 30 at the latest.
But at least New Jersey is cooperating and not dropping it's usual suffocating heat and humidity August weather on us. It was still pretty gross on my Sunday morning run, but I've run through much worse.
Weather wise, at least. A day after a terrorist killed a woman in Charlottesville because she was protesting white nationalism, I found two wretched signs on the side of the road. Here's one. Here's the other. The second one is from a skinhead group. I called the police and had it removed. If you don't think this isn't everywhere: it is. And yes it's important for me to say that here.

What I'm Reading
Barbara Kingsolver's Flight Demands. It's too early to give my thoughts, but her books Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and Prodigal Summer are stunning. I have high hopes.
What I'm Watching
I'm just about done The Last Tycoon, which is still incredibly predictable but still worth watching. I also watched That Funny Feeling, a ridiculous Sandra Dee movie (a bunch were free on demand on TCM). It was silly, and made me want to watch Down with Love again. Maybe I will.
