I tweeted that on Sunday night during the Emmys, and I tweeted it because it's true. It's become a bit of a parlor game in my family because it's fun! Why not pick which generically perfect person would play you in a film adaptation of your book? So this week's newsletter will be the fictional casting of the Running: A Love Story, which I see as a limited run prestige drama perfect for HBO, Netflix or Amazon Prime. See, Reese Witherspoon? I'm making this easy for you!
A few things to note: Because of lawyers, I had to change descriptive details about a lot of people in the book. If you want to talk about my choices, I kindly ask that you refrain from saying things like "but in real life he…" or from using that person's real name. Because lawyers. Also, my family members aren't named in Running: A Love Story, so they're listed as their titles to me below. And if an actor isn't terrible well known, I've given you a credit hint.
